Warehouse 13 Review

Today is sadly what I will call a filler day, until I get my next project finished and documented. Tomorrow I will have a scrumptious new project for you all. Tonight, I finally watched Warehouse 13 on the Syfy channel... website. (Or as I like to call it skef fee.) I really wanted to watch it because it looks a lot like a rehashed version of the X Files. On the day it premiered two nights ago, due to powers outside of my control (cleaning up my neighbor’s garage) I didn’t. Now for the reason you started reading this post in the first place.

This new series is what would happen if the X Files and Eureka made a baby. Of course, all of these judgments are based solely on the pilot, so my opinions could certainly change. So the story goes two secret service agents, Myka Bering and Peter Lattimer are tossed into a warehouse in nowhere South Dakota. Which looks (purposefully?) like the one at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark. It is a cheerier version of the X Files, no iconic creepy intro song to be found here.

Myka and Peter are once again the odd couple troupe. Myka is the by the book, (John Dogget) somewhat bitchy agent. However, it is heavily foreshadowed that she will become more likeable as the series continues. I believe this is just the characters reaction to her new assignment (cough...abduction.) While in contrast, Peter is the light-hearted goof ball (Mulder). The episode’s plot was not too exciting, but it is the pilot, they are used primarily to set up the series tone, character relationships and personality types. I’m confident the next episodes will be more enjoyable. I will be sure to watch a few more episodes before I set my opinions in concrete. Still, it shows true promise, especially for a summer series. So be sure to give it a watch. It’s on Sci Fi, now with silly spelling, Tuesday’s at 9/8C.

Did you see this show? If so, tell me what you think.
